More than one opinion on ebooks opinion piece
Seeking additional reactions to 'Where are we headed with eBooks?'
30 April 2001
When Ted Padova recently wrote, and we published his opinion piece on our Planet eBook site (www.planetebook.com) that included the comment:
"I believe that most of us will see a near extinction of printed works in our lifetime."he, and we, had a hunch a second opinion might soon follow. It did.
Then came a second and third. Each well-reasoned submission staked out slightly different futuristic ground on, respectful of but not always in agreement with, the personal thoughts expressed in Padova's original "Where are we headed with eBooks?" piece.
With permission of the three initial respondents -- Kas Thomas, Bryan Guignard and Peter Zelchenko -- we're publishing the full-text of their commentaries. At the same time, we're inviting others who'd like to take the time to submit equally thoughtful and well-expressed opinions on the same topic to submit them for consideration. Depending on both the quantity and quality of responses, we can't promise we'll publish all opinions. We will publish everything thing that contributes meaningfully to the discussion at hand, and does so in a knowledgeable and equally respectful manner.
Want to chime in? Read one or all of the currently posted opinion pieces, then submit yours to addressremoved@planetebook.com. We'll be in touch soon thereafter.
As new opinions are received and published, we'll add them to this list:
