REB 1200

The REB 1200 is a new dedicated ebook device from RCA. Licensed from Gemstar and based on the popular Softbook Reader, the device runs its own proprietary ebook format. The REB 1200 features a high quality, color screen, large memory and an ethernet connection.

You read on the device much as you would a paper book. Make margin notes, underline special passages, and bookmark pages, but have the additional functionality of altering the font size and searchability. To get books you connect to your computer or, using its built-in modem, connect directly through the device.

The REB 1200 and its less expensive brother (the REB 1100) are the only dedicated ebook devices currently available.
