The Microsoft Reader 1.1 Tool for eBook Creation is an improvement on the Microsoft Reader add-in released last year at the same time as the release of Microsoft Reader 1.5. According to the press release the improvements come in a variety of ways.

Firstly, once installed, the add-in adds a "Read" button to the Word toolbar, which converts and then opens in Microsoft Reader -- essentially this feature is designed to encourage readers to convert longer documents for reading from the screen. Secondly, the conversion process has been improved by stripping out more font and formatting information that conflicted with the eBook created for Microsoft Reader by the old add-in. And finally, the update also includes an easy, new way to publish custom cover graphics for eBooks, giving them a more finished, professional look.
