Phoenix-Library Takes Over from Rocket-Library, Expands to Other Formats
July 20, 2001
Phoenix-Library - www.phoenix-library.org - has become the new home of former Rocket-Library.com contributors, volunteers and community members. (Rocket-Library.com was shut down suddenly by its owner Gemstar several months back.)

Expanding from Rocket-Library.com's RB format focus, the online library offers Adobe Acrobat Reader, MS Reader, MobiPocket, ReB 1100, Franklin's eBookman, and Rocket eBook eBooks, as well as eBooks in several languages.
Speaking to one the site's "Founding Birds," Philippe Rigaux told Planet eBook that "the Phoenix-Library is a conservatory of more than 3000 titles at its opening and this will grow with the help of its users."
The site is a truly global release with the site's "Founding Birds" including people from across the globe: Germain Garand (Belgium - now in Lisbon), Philippe Rigaux (Paris), Jean-Marc Lacombe (Canada), Teotonio Simões (Brazil) and all participants of the Phoenix-Library.org newsgroups.
