netLibrary files for IPO

netLibrary has filed to raise over $82M in an IPO. Assuming the IPO goes ahead, it will make netLibrary the first ebooks-based company to join the NASDAQ.

According to netLibrary they now have over 28,000 titles online, and have sold more than 160,000 copies. Their plan includes the offering of US$82,225,000 of shares and to list under the EBKS symbol.

netLibrary cite Andersen Consulting study that projects revenue for ebook as $1-3.4 billion by 2005.
