Following World Cup football through eBooks

Kick off is only hours away. The four year wait is all but over for fans of the 'beautiful game' -- football's (or soccer's) World Cup starts today. For eBook enthusiasts it's not too late to catch up with the fun and keep up to date with the progress of your favourite team. The opening game in Korea today between reigning champs France and (BinaryThing's favorite team) Senegal should set the scene for a great month of football.

Of course North Americans are not renowned for their love of football (aka soccer), but for most of the world the coming month is a little crazy. But for sports lovers anywhere, it's never too late to get in on the action.

If you head over the French-based MobiPocket (home of the world champs) you can get the World Cup 2002 eBook. The eBook is filled with match schedules, information on all groups and teams. And making up the most of what's possible, during the event the eBook will be regularly updated with score, info and stats.

  • Head to Memoware for the US TV listings and schedule for matches.

At the official FIFA World Cup site there's a wealth of PDF format eBooks for free download.
